SLICE HOUSE

Slice House was designed to match the fabric of an old street in Halifax. Small dimensions and steeply pitched roofs are what exemplify the houses on the street. This design sought to mimic that fabric in a modern way. The width of the house is quite narrow, as was the original house that was on the site. Wood cladding, in bleaching stain and black, provides a simple and timeless texture and quality to the house, as does the metal roof.

The front entry is cut out from the corner of the gable-roofed house with a small window looking out from the kitchen behind, a perfect opportunity to see who may be coming along the walkway to the house.
