Treehouse Village Ecohousing

TREEHOUSE VILLAGE ECOHOUSING

The Treehouse Village Ecohousing project is the first co-housing development in Atlantic Canada. Co-housing is a way of living where a group of like-minded individuals and families come together at the outset of the design process, acting as an integral partners with the Design Team to form a development that values shared space and community.

Co-housing communities include private residences and high-quality, shared amenity areas for communal living. Treehouse Eco Village is on a 14-acre wooded property within walking distance of downtown Bridgewater on Nova Scotia's South Shore. The project includes thirty private residential units and a Common House complete with a communal kitchen, co-working area, gym, guest suites, a workshop, and a shared Common Green. The village will meet Passive House certification criteria, incorporating low-impact stormwater and landscape design, and includes enhanced accessibility and universal design features making this community sustainable and welcoming to all ages and abilities.

Treehouse Village showcases RHAD's ability to effectively manage communication and expectations between multiple clients, stakeholders, and consultants. It also highlights RHAD's ability to push the envelope of design and create something that will be the first of its kind in the region. This project is still in the design phase. The project will be completed in late Summer, Early Fall 2023.
